Edinburgh occupied, world revolution expected by Christmas

On Sunday 15 October Edinburgh, and thousands of cities around the world, joined the occupy movement demanding a world where human needs are prioritised over private greed.

Since Sunday the camp in St Andrew's Square has grown, and at the time of writing an assembly is taking place to discuss and plan shit. Despite the bad weather spirits are high. Everyone is encouraged to come down to St Andrew's Square to take part in this wee revolution.

Its grown ?   Really I watched all day from my office.  There was a grand total of 2 people there today until 5 when about 10 came.  Not much of a revolution is it ?  Nice sunny Saturday a hundred or so hipster rent a demo types come, then in typical Scottish fashion, that dwindles to about 20 on Sunday and finally 2-4 on Monday.   Hilariously pathetic

By the way, owners of garden along with Essential Edinburgh have instructed cops to clear the garden by Weds.   See ya.  (at current numbers that would take 3 cops and 2 bin men to accomplish)

yeah, work, imagine that ???   The ethos of your movement is simple..."give me stuff, other peoples stuff"  So its clear the idea of work would be foreign to you.

only witless abuse of those you deem worthy then eh ?  Typical.  You all fear debate of any kind that questions your motives as it sheds the light of sanity and reality on your anarco-utopian fantasies.

Are we to assume that you are one of these people who shuffle paper all day long, produce nothing of any value and than blame everyone else for the medicore life fulfilment this brings about?

There's an "h" in "anarcho". And there's political points in a debate. Your posts are missing both of those things.

I don't want to sound too cynical but there are reasons these occupations will not work in Glasgow, Edinburgh or London. Unlike New York there is a thriving support network, where money and resources are provided to the occupiers, and they have trained medical people within their organisation. They also have a coherent political and economic agenda. In London the support networks are missing, and the organisation has failed to reach out to the working classes. To many outsiders it appears like out of work students wanting a job instead of being part of a collective struggle so you need to improve your PR. The rain and approaching winter is going to make it difficult to keep the numbers going, and tents are no protection against snow and frost. Banks are to blame for this mess, but remember it is the last government that derugulated the banking system which allowed for the abuses. You can't expect banks to regulate themselves. It is the government to blame, so why not occupy government buildings demanding that they enforce stronger regulations against the banking system. All you need is a plan on which buildings will make the biggest impact. Tory HQ, LIBdem HQ, Whitehall, ......You fill in the dots. I'm just trying to start a debate.
